Haydarpaşa Train Station is the major train terminal of Istanbul on the Asian side.

It is also one of the most important monuments of Kadıköy. Its construction was completed in 1908. During the First World War some of the warehouses were used for amunition and a sabotage led to an explosion that caused extensive damage to building.

The station is used for suburban train Haydarpaşa-Gebze and train-ferryboat Haydarpaşa Terminal-Sirkeci Terminal. The station is next to the Port of Haydarpaşa serving the ferryboat Kadıköy-Haydarpaşa-Karaköy and sea bus Haydarpaşa-Kabataş, as well as Kadıköy ferry dock for ferry service to Eminönü and Karaköy .

Did you notice that there is (certainly, there was in 2010) a train that travels from Haydarpasa to Teheran in Persia?
