Julie (TravBuddy - Pinchora) was in Honolulu visiting a friend. They wanted to go to a luau. Going to a luau isn't something that I do on a regular basis, so I thought it would be fun to tag along. The Waikiki Beach hotels luaus are held on weekdays - we wanted a Sunday luau. …

The title is a bit of a fib. I had been to Hooters Restaurants before. My first one was the original Denver location on Colorado Blvd, some time in the early 1990s. My buddy, Dennis, took me to the first one in another state, in San Diego. We chatted up our waitress about g…

It was time to visit Chicago again. My old roommate was having a college reunion party and he throws great parties. There was no way I was going to miss it. I made my plane reservations and like a good TravBuddy, I updated my profile page with my Chicago travel dates. A Trav…

Lydia started our second, and final, morning in Hawai’i with a long phone interview for a biostatistician job in Leuven. Fingers crossed they were as impressed with her as I am. With that out of the way we went for another swim with the sea turtles, and then started our helicopter ride over t…

My guy and I wanted to go to Hawaii and experiece the important stuff like the wild life, nature and the culture. As fun as it is to go out dancing and drinking, those were all things we could do at home. I would never be able to lay with turtles on the beach and watch lava flow into the ocean in Denver!

A relaxing trip to O'ahu was a the best way to celebrate a birthday! Beautiful skies, water, and mountains as far as the eye can see.
Every single person I talked to had a great attitude, was relaxed, and polite. Also the fittest people in one location that I have ever witnessed. Surfing does a body good!

September 2007, Kauai, HI.
One of the last (hopefully not ever) vacations the immediate family will take for some time was spent on the relaxing island of Kauai. The vacay was spent lounging, perusing the beaches on the island (I believe we went to at least 5) and trekking thru the rainforest. Highlight: hiking on the trail with breathtaking views of the Napali Coast while enhaling the smell of fresh guavas as they fell from trees during our adventure. Enjoy the photos!

On our last full day on the Big Island we decided to go snorkeling. I had never done that before, and it was a weird feeling at first. I felt claustrophobic, which is weird because I've never been one to suffer through that. So it took me all of 10 minutes to get the hang of it. But once I did…

I just moved off Oahu after 4 years of living there and can tell ya that renting a car and taking a drive around the shore is AMAZING and its a great way to scope out some culture and great views. Its the shortest coast drive of all the islands and is definitely worth it. Along with that first look…

In Hawaii rain brings two distinct things, rainbows and waterfalls. Because it rains a little bit on the island of Kauai (wettest place on the planet is here) there happens to be a few of each. One of the days during our trip we went up to Wailua Falls. It happens to be only a few miles from …
