We went to the island of Ohau. Many people warned us about the crowds and that it was too touristy. Well I did want to see the USS Arizona Memorial among other things. Waikiki Beach, Daimondhead, a submarine ride, a rainforest hike, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Dole Plantation were also covered in our week there.

We arrived in Hawaii on Tuesday evening, and took a stretched 18 seater Ford Excursion to our hotel. We checked in and went straigth to the bar. That lasted about 30 mins before the jet lag caught up with us and we went to bed.
We had our first lay in on WEdnesday getting up just in time for break…

Today I just didn't know what to do with myself. I went to the beach for a couple of hours in the morning, and walkedto the Ala Moana shopping centre and back to treat myself to a new book. Again, I sat eating and drinking and watching TV in the courtyard of the hostel all afternoon.&nb…

I'm not sure if there is a genre yet created to encompass the "travels" of indigenous peoples to the homes of other indigenous folks, or even the travels of natives around their own home places. But here's my first attempt at articulating what this kind of visiting looks like. I can't say I like to…

I have been to Hawaii close to 10 times in my life, this is just a few pictures from some of the trips! Usually when I go I stay half the trip in Maui, half in Waikiki area. I have been to the around both islands, including the North Shore in Hawaii. I love surfing when I'm there and relaxing on the beach!

After leaving Oahu, it was on to Maui, where I blew the rent (and then some) at the Ritz-Carlton. It was worth every penny, but I'm still reeling over the bill . . . so it's too painful to talk about now! : -) I'll come back to it later.
Besides, what emerged as my favorite spot …

I decided to stay in this wonderful paradise and never to return to the main-land ( as they call the continent from here). The people and beauty of the Islands are so powerful that I am sure you will feel the same.
The Best part of Honolulu is that you have both city life as well as the incredible peacefulness of long streches of untouched beaches and rain forrest.
I dare you to visit and experience true life!

Day 1 We arrived at HNL and the Enterprise shuttle picked us up. Got there and the service was excellent! In and out in about 10 min. On the way to Waikiki, stopped by the Ala Moana Mall to meet a friend and did some of our shopping here. The HIC store ran out of sandals. :( but I bought a b…
