I have family in Cuba. Went in summer 2000. Returned to Cuba in Jan 2009 and finally made it to Trinidad, my grandmother's home town. My cousins in Trinidad rent out a room in their beautiful 200 year old colonial home. If you would like more information don't hesitate to contact Julian and his wife Isabele at jsantanau@dmst.ssp.sld.cu. Isabele speaks English and is a wonderful cook. Trinidad has become a UNESCO world heritage site.

Arriving in Cuba was failry stressful and unfortunately we didn't find the next 6 days much more enjoyable. We understand that Cuba is communist, we were expecting it to be rough and slightly over priced. We definitely weren't expecting it to be so expensive that it made everything hard to do!I'll …

I finally land at Jose Marti International Airport after my 9-hour flight from Gatwick. My beloved Chelsea had just won the…

Cubans and HabanerosThose who know me will know that I love to stereotype people! Not in a nasty sense ... but since we’re leaving Cuba today, here goes my view of Cubans and the Cuban life:
It seems a disproportionate number of people have amazing bodies. They may work out ... but…

We arrived in Havana around 8:00pm without knowing where we were going to stay. My trusty lonely planet had a few listing of people who opened up their house to tourists, so I figured we would call some of them up and stay with one of them. Once we went through customs, we were greeted by a …
