tons of fun! Jan 09, 2009
The haus der musik is a great museum to visit! The first room upon entering part of the museum is what it is like to be a fetus inside the womb; what the fetus would hear. there are other rooms that explain the different parts of the ear and what that part does. there is also an interactive area that explains pitch, frequency, etc. there is a 'forest' of different interactive games too. it is a very cool interactive museum with lots to do and explore. after leaving the interactive area the museum guides you through different rooms that explain the famous classical composers of austria. overall, i would recommend this museum just because it is so entertaining and interesting. the information is well presented in an engaging manner. info inside the museum is in german and english.

New-concept museum about sound and music Jul 08, 2008
A modern-concept museum dedicated to sound and its discovery. You can play around with some interactive stations and learn about the processes involved in hearing and the production of sounds.
They couldn't go too far from Vienna's musical tradition though, so you have rooms dedicated to the major Austrian and German composers. The simulator near the exit (top floor) allows you to lead the Wiener Philharmonica. Be careful! The orchestra tends to get upset pretty fast |

Final stop is Haus der Musik. Also being a musican, I was excited for this museum. It took you through the lives of some famous (German and Austrian mainly) composers. You could direct an orchestra with an electric baton and they play with you - at your… Lost in history... |

Tonight I visited a museum called the Haus der Musik which had parts dedicated to all the Viennese musical luminaries and explores the science behind music through these neat interactive displays. My mom would have loved it. You get to find the highest frequency you can personally hear, pretend-direct the philharmonic… Schnitzel, Schiele, Song |
