Hoedown in Detroit! May 01, 2008
Hart Plaza, along with being the venue of other big events like Tech-fest and cultural celebrations, it is home to my favorite event-the Hoedown! A friday though sunday event, it is a huge event, attracting thousands of people. Big country singers come and perform and the spectators get drunk off their asses! lol. Make sure to bring a blanket and sit on the hill and look out at the Detroit River. Also, unless you pay for a seat, you have to stand the whole time, if you want to be in "seeing distance" of the stars, if not you could somewhere else and just listen. The event last well into the night so be ready to party, although i done suggest leaving a little early to beat traffic! Overall is a fun event, especially those that love country music! It is a free event too, although drinks are kind of expensive. And you don't have to worry about feeling unsafe, Detroit crops have the whole event under-control. You will have to worry about parking though, as always in Detroit. I hope everyone comes...its so much fun!!!
