A traditional bath house, which will leave you completely relaxed for half the price of the fancy heath spa's.

A traditional bath house, which will leave you completely relaxed for half the price of the fancy heath spa's.

One of England's last working Victorian Turkish Baths, the Turkish Baths are an integral part of the history of the Royal Baths, but also of Harrogate, which developed as a spa town after the discovery of the first medicinal springs in 1571.

There are 3 interconnecting hot rooms the Tepidarium (warm), the Calidarium (hot), and the Laconium (hottest). You work your way through them with a trip to a Steam room, Shower then Plunge pool in between each. The Plunge pool is freezing but you'll welcome it after the heat of the hot rooms and the humidity of the Steam room. After you've done this till you hearts content you can cooling down in the elegant Frigidarium (Relaxation Room. There is also a Jacuzzi, but this is separate from the rest of the Baths. You can get a tour if you’re a first time visitor.

They also offer a number of treatments, I opted for the Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage session, £30 for 45 minutes, it was excellent.

Word of warning they run men and women only days/times in which swimwear is optional!!

I nice little brake from Shopping or before lunch with the girls!
