Harrisonburg,VA is a picturesque up and coming city located just off interstate 81. It is the home to James Madison University and both the city and University are growing rapidly. While the city is rapidly growing, it is still very much a college city. Over the Fall, Winter, and Spring expect the city to be quite active with college activity. Quite the change from the quiet summers.
Situated between the Massanutten and Allegheny mountain ranges, the city offers plenty in way of outdoor activities including horse back riding, spelunking, hiking, mountain biking and more. Harrisonburg is also host to numerous fairs, festivals, art galleries and theater productions. Check a local the city’s calendar online and you’ll always find something going on to interest everyone.

Ok so I've got 2 weeks before I leave, but I thought I would just get my blog started. This is my first trip that I plan to blog while I am actually on the road.. you know.. real-time journaling so I'm excited about it. I leave on the 27th of December and arrive back on New Year's Day. My crazy trip involves a 9 hour layover in Zurich where I will meet up with a fellow couchsurfer who is going to show me around for the day. Then I fly to Paris where another couchsurfer has offered to host...
