Good American food in Spain Jun 26, 2008
Being in Barcelona, I just had to visit the Hardrock Café there. I try to make tradition of eating in every Hardrock Café that I encounter and the quality, so far, has never let me down. The Barcelona Hardrock Café, situated on the Placa de Catalunya (go right when coming from La Rambla), is no exception.

As soon as we got in I saw a poster of the 1973 tour of my all time favourite artist Alice Cooper. This didn't influence my idea of good food, but it did make me feel even better about this place. After a short wait, it was very busy at the time we came in, we were escorted to a table where we had a nice view over the restaurant (it was on some kind of large balcony).

The waitress, who actually spoke some Dutch, because she had lived there for a year or so, gave us the advice to try the BarBQ Trio Combo. She also told us to share it, unless we were VERY hungry. Because I fancied a desert we decided to follow the advice, and it was a good thing we did. Barbequed spare ribs, grilled beef cut in very thin slices and grilled chicken, all marinated in a delicious secret recipe sauce. The fries on the side with some sort of dip completed the dish. We thought it was fingerlicking good, but in Trudy's opinion it was a pity that it was American, rather than Spanish cuisine. There was plenty of food for the two of us on this one dish, hardly leaving any room for desert, but I just had to try the Sinful Sunday (which is a fantastic ice cream if you're into caramel sauce).

While we were eating, our Cokes were refilled for free (on our second visit we were even offered a second free refill), leaving us more than satisfied after half an hour of eating.

The merchandise department, however, was nowhere near as good. Buying a pin was no problem, but trying on a T-shirt for size (always important for the ladies, mine is no exception) wasn't allowed and the staff weren't helpful in any way.

Conclusion: Delicious American food, reasonably priced due to the fact that one dish will suffice for two people in addition to the free refills. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always smiling. The slogan Love All Serve All is held high in this culinary hardrock heaven in the city of Gaudí.

Great public, good food and music, with a good and friendly service. Nov 18, 2008
When i was in Barcelona, i had too visit the Hard Rock Cafe.

The Hard Rock Cafes, you can find them all over the world, and when possible i will be there. I was also in the hard Rock cafe on Bali, Madrid, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, all of them are amazing and special. The Hard Rock Cafe in Barcelona is a great one, with a good and friendly service, good music and of course you will have there a good meal. The spare ribs and the burgers are the favorits. And when you still hungry, try the apple pie, delicious!! Don´t order a starter, provided that your very hungry. So after a long day's promenade on Las Ramblas, "Ramble On" over to the Hard Rock for a rockin' good time!

Hard Rock Cafe - the staple tourist trap of every city in the world. This one is really no different than any other - same menu, same merchandise, different city. There are two merchandise areas, so opt for the larger one inside of the restaurant rather then the smaller one with the exterior door. Service was quite poor, and we had very little knowledge of who exactly our server was. If you go there for your Hard Rock favorite menu item, expect typical Hard Rock food and atypical Hard Rock service. My All Access card was not swiped by the server, and the people at the merchandise shop were not so helpful in helping me add my meal points to my card. Eat your Hickory Smoked Pulled-Pork sandwich (formerly known as the"pig sandwich"), buy your shirt and get out!
