Hard Rock Cafe - Athens Reviews
Dine like a star in the Greek capital ^_^ Jul 11, 2008
Having returned from our island trip to the Aegean Sea, my girlfriend and me spent the last weekend of our vacation in Athens. After roaming the inner city with its thousands of shops and boutiques, we were really up for some drinks at night.
The Hard Rock Cafe is situated in the center of the 4 million inhabitant Megapolis, right in a three story neo-classic building in 18 Filellinon Street. They advertise a lot and everybody knows where it's located - therefore it won't be a problem to get there. However, it is not too easy to be seated at a free table without reservation, since the place is quite packed in the evening!
We managed to get two seats at the impressive wooden Bar, which was totally fine with us, because from there you enjoy a splendid overview of the entire Cafe and the huge barstools are extremely convenient. We chose some finger food and long-drinks from the rich menu and very much enjoyed the warm atmosphere, the nice music, the delicious food and of course ourselves at the Hard Rock that evening.
Since it had been very hot that day I stripped off my watch at some time and forgot it at the Bar when we left. (The drinks were very delicious indeed ^_^) The next morning my girlfriend called them from the hotel (she speaks Greek, but I'm sure they would have perfectly understood English as well) to inquire whether the watch had been spotted - and indeed it was still there! I then took a taxi and rushed to the Hard Rock Cafe again to get it. When I arrived, the Barkeeper was very friendly and determined not to give the watch to anyone else than the owner, since he not only asked me for the brand, he also wanted to see the watch fit on my wrist! I very much liked that attitude, since it shows that the staff truly care! Should you be in the Greek capital, it's always nice to pay a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe - check their page for reservation (!) and a down-loadable menue, in case you usually can't decide what to order ^_^ The Merchandise section is, like in every HRC, next door and truly expensive.....well, I just had to buy me a shirt there, though!
