Harbourside Motor Lodge Nelson

Well, can I even review it as we did not end up sleeping there? Booking made months prior to arrival, arrived at 2pm, no one at reception (normally only manned from 5-7pm - no mention of this before arrival). 2x rooms booked (2x families staying) only 1x key left for us, no details of other room (so 4 adults and 2x kids in one room trying to get toddler to have afternoon nap and get ready for wedding). No reply to messages left on contact number. We booked 2 rooms as 2 of us going to wedding at 3, other family minding children. Long story short, ended up the 'babysitters' had to find another motel, pack everything up and move all our gear at 6pm as staff when they did arrive were unhelpful, rude, agro and would not accept cash/eftpos payment for rooms even though they had failed to leave out 2x keys/respond to messages left trying to sort this out/the 'discounted rate for our inconvenience' they offered equated to more than was originally quoted in their emails to us/very dodgy as kept insisting on getting credit card number. All round Faulty Towers, and yes, the 'manager' is named Manuel! Lucky we ended up staying at the Palms, and they couldn't have been more helpful, also much more convenient with children. Think it is used mainly by workers because of it's convenience to their jobs. Rooms ok. Service shambolick!
