Harborside Hotel Marina Bar Harbor

I had the good fortunate of discovering this place during a trip through Bar Harbor, Maine, and it was a very pleasant surprise. The rates during the off season are fantastic, but make sure to call ahead because I believe they shut down in December. We got a place right on the Harbor and the views in the morning were amazing. It is however important to note that this town shuts down come late October (end of the tourist season) so only a skeleton crew remains with regards to shops & restaurants. There will be 1 or 2 bars open in the evening, which will also be the only places to snag a meal, but again, selections will be limited. I only mention the bar scene because thats pretty much all that you'll have to occupy your time during the fall season.

Bar Harbor is a great stopping point for anyone in or around the Acadia National Park area and I highly recommend a drive around the old town.

Maine has always been one of my favorite places to visit during the fall and one of things I enjoy most is the contrast of the shores of the Atlantic over those of the Pacific on the left coast.
