Harau Valley is located at Lima Puluh Koto county, 15 km from Payakumbuh, 47 km northeast from Bukittinggi.
Along the way to reach this place, you can see such stunning views that it is even too difficult to describe. Perhaps you can compare the view with Ha Long Bay if you have been to Ha Long Bay previously. Only Harau is located on the land which is easily accessible by cars.
Many granites cliffs that rise with the height from 80 m up to 300 m and it also has a 270.5 ha area of National Park.
There are many specific flora and fauna of tropical rain forest lives in Harau National Park. Animals such as: long tail monkey (Maccaca Fascicularis), Sumateran Tiger (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae), Tapir (Tapirus Indicus) and distinctive flora such as Kantong Semar (Tropical pitcher plant/Genus Nepenthes), a plant which likes to eat meat.
In short, it is a great loss if you visit West Sumatera without visiting Harau Valley.

What a great country:) but in 2months we saw and experienced a lot, bad and good:) but unfortunaly we didn't manage to go to Borneo and Sulawezi... its so big that archipelago:)
