A Place for the Dogs to Play Oct 07, 2009
Woof! Dance! Dance! Scooter love this park!
Happy Tails Dog Park, located in the Brighton Sports Complex, on Judicial Parkway is fully fenced, off leash dog park. It is designed so your dog can run free and play with you and or other dogs. The park offers several amenities for your dog. There is a social area, near the picnic table, where owners and dogs naturally congregate. The dogs can sniff, play, and run. The owners just visit. Just to the south of that is a pond where dogs can splash, swim, or retrieve items thrown in. It is shallow, never more than three feet would be my guess, and tends to get muddy. South of that is an open space with grass, where games of fetch are common. Also in this area is a combination doggie water fountain and dog batch station. The approximate distance around the fence is ½ mile, so it is a fairly large area. There is a small transition station so you can take your dog off the leash before getting into the actual park. You can use the same area to releash Fido without having him feel restricted around other dog. Happy Tails gets constant use on any good weather day, so you will rarely have it to yourself. You must clean up after your dog. Vicious dogs, dogs in season, unvaccinated dogs, and dogs not under voice control are not allowed. The rest of the rules are posted prominently. Happy Tails is free, open every day between sunup and sundown. There are restrooms nearby at the softball fields. Part of the Scooter's Adventures in Brighton travel blog |
