Affordable friendly, family run Guesthouse Oct 13, 2016
After a snap decision to stay in Siem Reap longer and cancel my plans to Battambang I decided to mix things up and stay in a guesthouse (also to save a bit of money). Happy Guesthouse is still in the Wat Bo area so still close to the centre, there are lots of guesthouses on the street so plenty to chose from but I'd booked this one after reading various reviews. The room was pretty small but the bed was a double and really comfy, (after three nights on what felt like concrete this was a definite improvement!) it also had its own ensuite and fan. The shower was cold but given the sweltering humidity this was actually refreshing so I didn't mind. Like Siem Reap Hostel I'd come from a bar, travel desk and laundry were on offer as well as free wifi, safety deposit boxes are also available free of charge. The staff were incredibly friendly, also as an aside I left my phone in the saftey deposit box and one of their drivers came and gave it to me at the airport after I called them at no charge, utter lifesavers! I'd happily stay here again and also would recommend to those looking for a private room on a budget if hostels aren't your thing.

Single room with fan and shower (cold) was US$9 a night, breakfast and other meals are extra, but they are cheap home cooked meals that are good value for money and tasty. Free water is provided upon arrival and also when you leave.

Simple and Affordable Accomodation Jan 21, 2012
If you are looking for a cheap and quiet accomodation in Siem Reap, you should consider this guesthouse. It's owned by a local family. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty simple but they are very clean. The town is about 15 mins walk from the guesthouse. You can find bicycle rental shops and tuk tuks right outside of the guesthouse. Free airport transfer is provided. The cost for a twin bed room is only 6USD/night.

Outstanding Affordable accomodation Mar 21, 2011
This Guesthouse is one of the best I have stayed at throughout SE Asia it is a family run Hostel with affordable rooms and fantastic service.

The menu is primarily local food and some western dishes but it is really cheap and great quality.

They also have Their own tuk tuk's so there is no problem getting one at a reasonable price they will even take you to Angkor Wat a 5am.

Definitely worth the stay and highly recommended they can also arrange tours or a visit to the orphan centres.

There is also wi-fi and internet cafe.

Nice, family-run guesthouse Nov 24, 2010
Happy Guesthouse,

N 0134 Phum Wat Bo, Khum Salakomreuk, Siem Reap.

Tel.: (855) 12960879

E-mail: happy_ghouse@yahoo.com

This guesthouse is run by a very friendly family. It is situated in a quiet back street, walking distance to the center but if you think it is too far there are always tuk tuk's around. Rooms are good size and clean. They have free internet, not only wifi but also computers for those who don't travel with a notebook.

Free bicycles for guests.

There is a small and cozy restaurant where you can just sit, read a book, chat with other people while having a fruitshake, a small meal or whatever.

The staff speaks English.

Twinrooms with fan go for $7, with aircon $15.

Highly recommended guesthouse May 07, 2008
I and my fiance had spent three nights there. We picked Happy Guesthouse as a cheap place which mentioned on Lonely Planet book.A bit shocked by the road to get there: so rough!.

Located at a small alley, 80m far away the main street, that is a best choice for someone who would like to have a good sleep after having a long day on bus or tut tut ( local vehicle). Room is clean and comfortable with air-condioned, hot shower, TV. Breakfast is served at garden restaurant (extrapayment). Friendly staff with tour booking desk will be helpful for you.

P.s: Last Febuary,we did pay 12.00 USD/1 night for a double room with airconditioned and hot shower. Fan room should be much cheaper
