Hapimag Pentolina Reviews
Swiss holiday village Tuscan style Apr 30, 2011
Pentolina could have been just a quiet Italian village tucked away south of Siena in the hills of Tuscany. At the later part of the 20th century Pentolina seemed to have a less fortunate future, until the entire village was bought by the Swiss holiday company "Hapimag".
Hapimag restored the original houses into hotel rooms and created an extraordinary place for visitors to stay while enjoying there holidays in Tuscany.
The village is spread on a hill and has no real centre with a church. There's a small church though, but it is on the other end of the community.
Our room was housed in an old medieval house a long walk down from the reception. Fortunately we could reach it by car (parking lot nearby). The house was part of a small group of houses, all divided in two or more apartments.
Although with old looks from the outside, our apartment lacked any atmosphere from the inside. Yes, it was modern and had all kinds of furniture you need while on holiday, but no WOW effect.
The apartment offered a clear view on the Tuscan hills.
Pentolina has a big swimming pool, a restaurant with local cuisine, some relaxing lawns from where you can see the sun disappear behind the Tuscan hills.
It is a nice place to stay in Tuscany, but has a Swiss price level.
