A must for every Hans Christian Anderson fan who can't visit Odense! Jul 12, 2016
Let's face it - Denmark maybe known for a lot of things but for most of us that grew up on fairy tales, it's Hans Christian Anderson! This house, which shares its front doors with the Ripley's museum is quite hard to miss even though it's in such a central location (like, right across the City Hall).

It's a brilliant homage to one of the oldest and most talented authors. It's a serpentine walk through a series of displays and tableaux vivants, with pictures of his life and early childhood, and then a few of his best known fairy tales narrated in 3 different languages (English, Danish and German) on pressing a button. I thought Thumbelina and Little Matchstick Girl were very well done.

Highly recommended. You won't be spending hours in here...but good value for about 45 minutes!
