Deb & I spent the entire day wandering around Hanoi and just taking it all in really. We did make a brief attempt to visit Ho Chi Minh Museum & Mausoleum but unfortunately turned up when they were closed for lunch. It was not really a dissapointment as to be honest i much prefer to just explore places on foot than be couped up in Museums. I had been going on about my love for Pho so this was an obvious choice for lunch when we stopped to rest. On route back to the hostel …

Another sleeper
bus landed the four of us in Hanoi,
where our planned trip to Ha Long Bay was cancelled due to a typhoon. The Irish
Three signed up for a two-day tour of the bay, and I signed up for a three-day
tour. With an unplanned day to spend in Hanoi
we decided to walk around and visit a few local sites. After checking into a
guesthouse, getting lost, and grabbing lunch, Dave and I set off in search of
the Army Museum, which was supposed to be pretty
cool. We arrived to a closed…

We arrived into Ho Noi around lunch time from a flight from Hue and thought that we would find accommodation easy, but shit this was not the case. We drove around in a taxi for 2+ hours and finally dictched him and found our own hotel.Ha Noi looks nice but we didn't stay long as our trip was coming to an end and we wanted to travel to Halong Bay for an overnight boat trip.We booked a two day boat trip to depart the next morning and we were excited but tired. Michelle had found an …

We
took a flight from SFO to Taiwan, and from Taiwan to Ho Chi Minh City. From Ho
Chi Minh City was another flight to Hanoi up North. In Hanoi, we visited the Ho
Chi Minh Masoleum, the Presidental House, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, One Pillar
Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison. Truly awesome tourist
sightseeing day. We stayed at the Church Hotel, which was very clean and which
I had booked via email due to its recommendation by Lonely Planet Vietnam.

Vietnam and Cambodia are really affordable to everyone.
I have found the people to be very friendly in both countries.
I visisted Saigon and did all the side trips (Megkong Delta, Chi Chu tunnels, Cat Tien national Park), Hanoi including the Halong Bay trip and Sapa.
In Cambodia I unfortunately only did Siem Reap with 4 temples of which Angkor Wat is the most famous.
I loved it and would do it again.
