Disclaimer: before I embark on a rant, just have to say that Hanoi –and especially the old quarter- is visually delightful and has a unique character that typifies the convergence of new & old happening throughout all of ‘Nam.

My ass stung from the cycling and I did not
enjoy a 7am start. It was worth it for a

So after confusing the check-in staff at Hong Kong airport that I had a

to Singapore from Vietnam, though she just really gave up asking me
questions) I managed to get on the plane to Vietnam. Of course at
Hanoi, they didn't …

The
idea came to me in a second. Then, I went to the Sinh café office to book an
open bus tour from Saigon to Hanoi,
which cost me 500,000 VND (18,000 VND = 1 USD). I was supposed to stay on the
bus in 2 days and 2 nights. It sounded very challenging and harsh at first.
However, I was in the …

After spending 4 days by myself in Bangkok I met up with a friend in Hanoi - First thing they told us as we were driving from the airport to the city was; "When you're crossing the street don't look, just walk - they will drive around you and you're more likely to get hit by a car or moped if you s…

On the DMZ tour we ate twice, believe it or not, at that rubbish restaurant called Me Kong - the food's standard was only worsened by the pitiful …
