What stroke me the most in Vietnam was the surrounding noise of street transportation. Even at night, you get a live concert of bikes, motorbikes and parlors buzzing around. Think about it when choosing an hotel room or get some earplugs

Ok, so my biggest fear of this adventure finally came true while travelling through Northern Vietnam.  Why, you may be wondering?! Well, the North is famed for its very unique specialty . . . DOG!!! So, there we were driving th…transport chosen during the journey, a round-trip ticket showing proof of exit out of the country, and of course the passport-size photos.  It wouldn't be easy!! Seventeen hours, three buses, three motorbikes, one tuk tuk and one truck later, I am in Hanoi, Vietnam.  Time to vent.   I parted ways with my traveling companions in Phonsavan and headed for the nearest border crossing with a stra…transportation on the other side was scarce, and boy, was it right!   I hit Sam Neau at about 6 p.m. after a 10 hour bus ride, giving me enough time to find a place to stay and grab dinner.   The bus to the border… The Road Less Traveled...is Expensive
