The only taxis in Hanoi that I can trust was called Taxi Group and ABC Taxi. The driver were very fair, clean taxi and friendly. My friend was ripped off from a different taxi that charge her around $15 for a ride that was less then 2 miles with light traffic to the hostel, which should have cost $2. Please be careful on picking a cab. Make sure that the meter is on and that the starting price is reasonable.

company names, better ask your hotel to organize a taxi, so that they can check on the price. Also ask for a receipt.Normally no ride in Hanoi should be more than 50-max 100K.
