Hanga Roa village port Nov 11, 2013
Hanga Roa village port is a smaller of the two on the island and it is located on the bottom of the main road. It is just a small port with dozen or so fishing boats and a small sand beach used by local kids. Wake break area has few covered tables where fishermen chill and clean fish. The most important place in the port is ice cream parlor OF COURSE, and I must say that this ice cream saved my life more than few times. Little French restaurant at the entrance has good food and sweets with fair prices. Islands best dive shop Mike Rapa is also located here and it features couple really nicely carved pillars. Port is guarded by solo Moai and saved by some saint standing on the rock surrounded by angry birds.
