Hanam's

I've never had a Kurdish meal, so was intrigued as to what style it might be in. I imagined some kind of Turkish/Greek/Something else combo.

It did turn out to be quite Greek/Turkish-like. Lots of kebabs, tahini, olives, couscous etc. Friend next to me had a dish called Baba ghanoush, which was made out of smoked aubergine - very tasty.

I had a lamb kebab for a main, and the meat was succulent. The only problem was that it took over an hour for the mains to arrive. I know we were in a group of 11, but it shouldn't have taken that long. We passed the time talking, so not too bad.

The deserts were sweet and very filling. If you've ever had baklava before - then you'll know what to expect.

They don't serve alcohol in the restaurant - but you are free to bring your own. It worked out at about £15 a head for the meal.
