Hana Vacation Guide
Hana is located on Maui’s East Coast. There is a large tourist presence in Hana but not nearly as large as other areas such as Kihei and Lahiana. There are a few notable tourist attractions in Hana such as the Seven Sacred Pools (Kipahulu) and Hamoa Beach. There are only two hotels on this side of the island – the Hotel Hana Maui and the Hana Kai Maui Resort, so if you plan to stay the night, make reservations as it’s very unlikely that you’ll get a room just walking in. Also keep in mind that if you are not staying at one of two hotels in Hana, you’ll need to allow ample time for the drive back to central Maui. It’s recommended that you use the North Shore segment of the Hana Highway as using the South Shore segment is prohibited in your rental car contract. The South Shore segment of the Hana Highway is isolated, unpaved in some parts and has a few cell phone dead zones. Not a good route to use, especially at night!

tourist anymore! This is only my second trip to Maui though and I'm
