Hammam de Al Andalus Cordoba Reviews
Banos Arabes Oct 11, 2011
If you are looking for a very special treat, the Arab baths in Cordoba are a very special place indeed.
This hammam is a recreation of the Arab baths of the Caliphate of Cordoba. Although they are modern, they are housed in a medieval house and built so close to the original specifications of the baths of the caliphate that the caliphate bath archeological site use them as the basis for their video presentation. They are absolutely beautiful.
There is a warm room, massage space, a cold room, a hot room and a steam room. You move between these rooms in the same way that you would have done in ancient Rome or Caliphate Cordoba. The light comes from star shaped sky lights and candles, and there is atmospheric music. The staff encourage you to speak as little as possible and if you are discussing the injury that ended your pro football career at the top of your lungs, they will very politely ask you to be more quiet.
You will need your own swimming costume, but the towel hire is included in the price. This is just as well, as the prices start at a stiff 27 Euros just for the bath, with massages extra. That said, I think it is actually well worth it. It was a nice massage and the baths are incredibly beautiful. Worth saving for.
