“Hamilton's Pool” Jan 25, 2010
Hamilton's Pool is a beautiful natural swimming hole. Reminds me of the cenotes in Mexico. It is located on a nature preserve about 30 minutes outside of Austin. Great for a days trip out into the country. There are great big Cyprus trees and plenty of wildlife. The swimming hole itself is quite large with a cave-like wall that encloses 3/4ths of it. It's a place which used to be home to Native Americans. There is water that falls from the high walls creating incredible displays of fern and fauna. Definitely worth a day trip if you journey to Austin! :)
