Hamilton Zoo Reviews
A zoo with character Sep 20, 2008
This zoo is a place where you can meet animals from all over the world! Visit a world, where both native and non-native animals live together and you get the chance of learning more about them.
I really liked the fact that the animals are allowed to live in an environment, which is as close as possible to their natural living conditions. That means the chimpanzees have a nice playground and the tigers is almost invisible behind the bamboo.
The zoo is pretty popular for its rhinos but the giraffes, zebras, kunekune pigs and many other animals are worth a visit as well.
If you want to know more about a special animal just ask the friendly and well-informed service personal, who is highly interested in sharing the varied knowledge.
Furthermore this place offers neat spots for a picnic (a lunch near the kunekune pigs can be quite entertaining).
An early visit is absolutely recommended because the crowds are still at home or another good opportunity is a visit at the scheduled feeding times. If you’re lucky you’ll even spot the tigers and the cheetahs.
