Hamden Vacation Guide
Hamden lies in south central Connecticut, next to New Haven. It is nicknamed "The Home of the Sleeping Giant" as there is Sleeping Giant State Park (with a rock formation known as the Sleeping Giant) within the town. The Quinnipiac Trail runs through the Park and the town as well.
Hamden also has several "villages" including Mount Carmel (where Quinnipiac University is located), Whitneyville (named after inventor Eli Whitney) and Spring Glen.
