From Hamilton we drove east to Dunkeld that has some fairly pricey accommodation, then turned north towards Halls Gap in The Grampians. The road is pretty good with pleasant views. There was a very big bushfire there last year and one could see how the new regrowth covered the trees in the area. We had a much needed rest at "Ned's Guest House" and rose at about 10 o'clock, we checked out and said bye to "Ned" himself. We headed to McKenzie Falls that were about 12 km into the mountains from Halls Gap. The waterfall was pretty big but it would have been much more impressive if ithe weather hadn't been so dry recently. Our last weekend away for term 2 was a 3 day weekend to the Grampian Mountains, a three and a ½ hour drive from the house. Stefanie and I treated ourselves to a weekend at a luxurious B & B called Corella’s Rise located 15minutes outside of Halls Gap.
