Hale Kona Kai
Hale Kona Kai Reviews
Hawaiian Home by the Sea Jun 17, 2009
Hale Kona Kai was a place David found on the internet. We located it easily in the downtown area of Kailua Kona. The rooms all have ocean views (close ocean...not distant) We were pleased to see it was close to Huggos on the Rocks as we wanted to enjoy their live music one night... The farmers market is also within walking distance. It has local produce including macadamia nuts, coffee, papaya, melon, honey and vegetables.
All of the rooms at Kale Kona Kai are air conditioned. The view from the lanai is outstanding. It has a table and four chairs. We have spent hours just sitting and looking at the boats, surfers and waves. It has free Wifi (very important). The room we have (302) has a huge plasma TV in the living room with a vcr/dvd player. A large number of movies are in the drawers. The bedroom also has a television. Each floor has a coin operated laundry room and a garbage room. We have radios in both rooms. The rooms also have ceiling fans and air conditioning. The kitchen is supplied with everything you could need. Dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, stove, tea pot, dishes, pots and pans and flatware as well as cooking ware. They even supply condiments such as mustand and sugar. (very handy as it's hard to get all of these cheaply). There is a boogie board, mask, fins, snorkle and floater noodle in the bedroom closet. The linen closet has anything you could wish for... although it seems like the blankets would never be used. All in all we feel this is a very good value. It is regularly $140 per night (two couples could easily split this condo) although with the recession we got it for less. We plan on coming back in the future. We drove into town and checked into the condo: Hale Kona Kai. It was a darling one bedroom, kitchen/living room and Lanai (deck) facing the ocean. We were about 30 feet above and 5 feet out from the water. We could see schools of yellow fish through the clear, clear water… We arrived in Hawaii!!! |
