Breakfast at our ryokan was a buffet of Japanese and Western-style dishes. It was the first time I'd really had salad with breakfast, but their miso-based salad dressing was delicious! The Japanese favorite natto, fermented bean paste, was served over hot rice. Dishes were labeled…

I've learnt much about the customs and culture of Japan so id like to share some of my knowledge with you.
I hope my experiences can help other people travelling to Japan.
I will slowly be adding my photos, tips and reviews.

In retrospect, this day could have been put to better use, but what is done is done. Was addicted to the idea of seeing Mt Fuji up close so I elected to do a day of travel. I took the Shinkansen back up to Hakone and bought a Odakyu Fuji Day pass entitling me to unlimited use of all possible mode…

Tokyo, Japan -› Tsukuba, Japan -› …
This was actually my 3rd trip to Japan and I did it because of my japanese girlfriend I had that time. This country is in many ways so different to what Westerners are used to, so mysteriours, that usually visitors either love it or hate it. There's not much in between. I learned to appreciate Japan already during my first trip and I knew I had to come back. China was something completely different. More chaotic, more dirty and more unpredictable. Like the big clumsy brother of Japan.
