Perhaps the main reason I decided to go to Israel was to visit the various Israeli mates I met on my travels. Where ever you go on holidays, it seems that you will almost always encounter an Israeli backpacker somewhere. I have met many on my travels. I travelled with the lovely Lihi and extra…

Tel Aviv, Israel -› Israel -› …
In 2005, I spent a total of 3 weeks in Israel. The first two weeks were to volunteer with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), and the last week was for sightseeing in Eilat on the Red Sea, and in the capital Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, Israel -› Ein Gedi, Israel -› …
The journey to Israel appealed to me for reason far less pious than I, sometimes, am willing to concede. Most simply: I went to reunite with a dear friend who had, by equal parts choice and chance, settled there. After eight years apart from her, I took the plunge. And it was, rewarding beyond measure, to our friendship, and,to me as Christian.
