Hai Chau Hotel Restaurant Jun 22, 2013
We have been walking around the market and center of this small city for sight seeing and also to find something to eat but unfortunately we could not find some decent restaurants nearby, however there is plenty of street food near the center which we were not too keen to try. It was too local for us and no table or chairs to sit to.

Finally, we come across the restaurant facing the river which double up as a bar with life music and when we go inside, we find out that the music was too loud for us and we could not hear each other and it hurt our ear especially it was local song which we do not understand the language with very bad sound system, so we decided against it and go out again as we could not carry on conversation in this type of establishment.

After that we decided to go back to the hotel as when we check in earlier at the hotel, we saw a lot of attractive food photos on the way to the elevator and the restaurant itself is not bad looking. So, we opt to have dinner here even though the place was deserted at night time and no other dinner inside the restaurant. We hope the food is good as per photo we saw.

The food selection of the menu was huge and the picture looks mouth watering and the price was very reasonable. It takes some times to decide what to eat and order. After settle on our order, the food arrives pretty quickly one after the other.

Unfortunately the food was not warm enough especially for the dim sum (which supposedly serve hot), and taste was so so, not bad but not good either.

The pork satay was okay, warm and looks nice, but the noodles which accompany it, was cold and I was not sure how I should eat this, as it serves with clear sauce with lettuce, cucumber and pineapple slices. Finally, I only eat the pork satay and left the noodles and the rest of the vegetables alone.

The chicken hot soup was okay but not the best. Overall, the food was not bad, but not good either but edible especially when one is hungry. I guess I would not order any more food from this place and we only stay there for one night.

The hotel manager actually come and asked about the food and we tell him honestly that the food was average and he thanks us for our honesty. We saw him talked to the cook just next door and we can see him from our table.

The location of the hotel restaurant was good, less than 5 minutes walk to the center and there is market nearby which we can buy fruits and other snack for the trip.
