The day couldn't have started out better...the breakfast table was spread with several types of cheeses, fruits, breads, eggs...on and on...it was delicious and we absolutely enjoyed it! We tried all the cheeses, which I might add, if I thought I loved cheese before, I was in heaven now!! I wasn't crazy about the nutty cheese, but as for the spicy, the butter, the tomato/basil and the garlic cheese---BRING IT ON!!!
Having such a keen interest in the cheese, we made our way out to the c…

Haarlem the nicest city in the Netherlands ;-)
I just love it. The city were I grew up and also Haarlem was my home-town for soooo many years. It's a city with a great and old history but it's also very relaxt as a small-town. I like the all kind off restaurants and the nice shopping area! The small parks and the nice houses. Also has Haarlem nice musea and art-galleries. If you have plans to go there some-time send me an email or if you need a cityguide...

Every (big) journey has to begin with a single step. I don't know who said it but it is true.
There was a an itch that i could not shake this last few months and one day it hit me: travel, the open road and a backpack that was the itch that i could not shake. So i started to think what would i do i had to make steps toward that goal of travel.
I made mine first step a few weeks ago i quit my job and negotiated (today) with my new job a 3 month leave.
In march i wi…

Haarlem is a great little place to wander around, not really for sight seeing but more for just the relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. There's a central square with an impressive cathedral and market stalls set up selling clothes and an assortment of oddities. The central shopping street makes for a pleasant diversion for an hour or two, and the obligatory Dutch canal is also present in this town. Other than that, it makes for a nice change from hectic Amsterdam, and the bicyclists here …

After left the horrible Van Der Valk hotel at Leiden, we tried to get the fietspad to Haarlem, we were quite lost cycling between Katwijk and Noordwijk, but finally we got the fietspad that follows the coast, near the beaches. For me was the best part of the cycling routes, crossing dunes, little forest, under a heavy sunlight. Suddenly, approaching Zandvoort a red fox appears to give us the welcome to the new province (Noord-Holland).
From Zandvoort (Beach town) to Haarlem (Inner city) the …

We had talked that one day we would go somewhere, away from A'dam, just like last time we went to Zandvoort. We ended up to go to Haarlem and took my friend's house mate's girl friend :] with us because she had a day off, as did my friend too. We took a train there, walked around the city, had tea at a cute café and sat in some other coffee shops.

After a month in Europe, I didn't want to leave. But my traveling had come to an end and it was time to put all my photos together after the trip of a lifetime. England, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France was my playground for the month of September, 2007

We decided to go somewhere with a train, just to see something else in Netherlands. It was really beatiful and warm day so my friend suggested that we would go to a beach. I was really excited because I love beaches and sea! :]So our destination was Zandvoort but we had to change trains in Haarlem.

A month travelling as a backpacker from Lille to The Netherlands (Amsterdam, Alkmaar, The Hague, Haarlem, Kinderdijk, Rotterdam) and then to Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges and Gant). Lille was European Capital of Culture in 2004 and it was a very good chance to see a lot of street art and interesting proposals in the city. I really liked. Amsterdam is such a crazy city, and Brussels, I love it.
