Melanie made a great suggestion to get Pho in Chinatown before we started running around and since I was getting sick, this sounded absolutely perfect!!! In addition to Pho, they have Boba!! Whoo Hoo!
The original restaurant opened in Los Angeles back in 1999 and they expanded to Las Vegas a few years later. They are known for grater Mekong Subregion's dishes such as the Pho, Thai Tom Yum, Lao Papaya Salad, and Chinese Steamed Ginger Fish. One other thing they've been recognized for is their French Vietnamese sandwiches. Their menu is pretty extensive and they feature a great Boba tea menu too!! :D Julie and I both tried the Lychee Milk Tea Boba and all three of us had the Pho, just minus the tripe in mine!!! :-) The Pho was good and the milk tea was awesome!!! It was a perfect light lunch to ensure we save room for ice cream/frozen custard afterwards!! LOL. Hue Thai has received several accolades, including "Best Ethnic Restaurant in Las Vegas" by Playboy Magazine and also "Top 100 Restaurants in Las Vegas" by Las Vegas Life. Hue Thai is in the Asian Market (or as I was told China Town) of Las Vegas. The restaurant is really nice and there is ALOT to chose frome on the menu including cuisines from Vietnamese Pho, Thai Tom Yum, Lao Papaya Salad, and Chinese Steamed Ginger Fish.
The dining area is very open and spread out so you can feel secluded from the rest of the patrons as you eat... the coolest thing is the pad the waiter uses to write on... it's all electronic so once he types it in the order goes straight back to the chefs without him going to talk to them. Mel, Erin and I ordered the Pho... which is a Vietnamese soup. This soup has a broth base to it and in it it has Tripe, meatballs, stomach lining, rice noodles, and some veggies. The soup is very good and very filling.... on the table there are condiments to put into the soup, and whatever other food you may order. My favorite to put in there is the spicy sauce and the fish sauce! The other thing you have to get here is teh Boba Tea... which is also called bubble tea. It is a selection of asian teas, Erin and I got lychee and Mel got Green, and it has tapioca balls in it called Boba... so it looks like bubbles throughout the drink. It was my 2nd time coming here. i ordered the red meat sandwich. it comes with cumcumber, green peppers, and carrots. there are other sauces in there. IT IS VERY YUMMY. MANY TO CHOOSE.
this time i craving for PHO. it is an usual place to order it. #1 the name of the place, #2 it is known for french - vietnamese bagette sandwiches, and #3 majority of the dishes are thai. i ordered the combo beef noodle soup (PHO), beef ball, well done brisket, tendon, flank, tripe, and raw steak. YUMMY AS ALWAYS. my mum ordered the catfish sour soup. WOW THERE ARE HUGE PIECES OF CATFISH. IT WAS PERFECTLY FLAVORED NOT TOO SOUR. we also ordered the papaya salad. this is normally a spicy salad. we wanted to be at medium level. THIS IS YUMMY AS WELL. i would like to come again to try more of the other vietnamese bagettes and other dishes. they also have bobo tea and smoothies. there is an other location in LA: HUE THAI DELI AND BAKERY 8968 E.
