HOtel Gillow Mexico City Reviews
Hotel Gillow Mexico City Jun 29, 2009
Hotel Gillow is located in downtown Mexico City, with the capitol building and a huge, beautiful cathedral just a few blocks away. There's a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, which serves complimentary breakfast. There's also a lounge, which opens for dinner. I didn't experience dinner at the hotel lounge, but I did stop in for dessert the first night, which was excellent.
The rooms are spacious, with beautiful bathrooms and small balconies overlooking the street. A 7-Eleven right around the corner and a drug store across the street provide any basic necessities that you may have forgotten, as well as late night snacks. The hotel is far enough from major tourist attractions to avoid price inflation, too.
However, though it is further from the normal tourist flow, a few minutes walk will take you to the National Palace where Diego Rivera's murals line the halls, and across the street where the Metropolitan Cathedral is--the largest and oldest in the Americas.
It's a beautiful place!
