Gutierrez Salina Reviews
Fine dinning in Salina Feb 25, 2011
The only reason I stopped to eat here was because I saw a sign that read: Gutierrez - Mexican, Steaks and Vegetarian! I figured what the heck, worth a try!
The place was hard to miss once from I-135/Hwy 81. Which is a plus for travelers on a schedule.
The outside was nice, but the inside was beautiful! It was obvious that a lot of thought went into the design of the interior. The doorway had an interesting sculptural flare to it and it lead you first to a small bar in the front with artwork covering the walls.
Then you enter the main dinning room and feel like you are not in Kansas anymore. A large room with high ceilings, plenty of private booths along the edge and several tables in the center. The Ceiling was covered in a silver reflective material and the walls were painted with whimsical murals.
The service was fantastic and the food was amazing!
The Vegetarian section was small, but selection was diverse and appealing!
I decided to order the Estofade - Zucchini, portobello mushrooms, broccoli, red peppers grilled with garlic and served on a bed of rice in a Spinach tortilla. The ingredients were fresh and not overcooked. Portions was large.
Meals came with some ships and some tasty salsa.
I also ordered a Sangria which was also tasty and enjoyable! :)
definitely recommend eating here to anyone traveling past Salina, Kansas. Its a great place for vegetarians to eat with non-veggie travbuddies :)
