Fun for bibliophiles! Jan 03, 2011
If you love books, and I mean love them, like you love the smell of an old tome and the feel of dry paper against your hand and keep books around because their presence makes your soul happy, then this museum is the place for you. I am a lover of books and all the above describes me, and I was in heaven here! Upon entrance to the museum you will get a brief lesson in Gutenberg's contribution to the world, in English and German, and a demonstration of how his moveable-type works. Afterwards you are released to explore. You'll see a great many old bibles and old printing equipment, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a treasure trove of old Islamic and Far East prints, among other ancient examples of the printed word. If you're not a fan of history, books, or museums, then maybe it's best if you pass on this one, otherwise, don't miss it!
