Amazing Indian food, although it's quite expensive Jul 13, 2016
To be very honest, I wasn't really keen on having Indian food whilst visiting Copenhagen. First off, I get fairly good Indian food in Seattle and Vancouver. Next up, I was cooking whilst in Copenhagen. And assuming I wanted to spend money on food, I'd rather try something local and Scandinavian.

That said, this suggestion by my friend turned out to be the best.

Guru is run by a Punjabi family who emigrated to Denmark years ago, and have kept up the amazing standard of Indian food. But what was even more appealing is how they recently redid the interiors to a more Scandinavian feel. So you have the statues of Ganesha and Lakshmi at home amidst walls and tables adored Danish style.

Very attentive staff, very professional service and the food is impeccable. The paneer, which is generally quite suspect in many global restaurants was very well made here.

Price-wise: expensive for me, especially coming from the US (a similar sized meal costs 25% in US Indian restaurants). But I'm told it's standard for Danish eating out standards.

Overall recommended, 5/5!
Very unassuming entrance
