Guru Indian Cuisine Reviews

Sep 12, 2007
Even though it it situated in the rather un-trendy, over designed strip mall of "Uptown Central Park", this place is a true diamond in the rough! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is classy-casual, and the service is impeccable. All at VERY reasonable prices. The exterior doesn't speak much about the interior, especially after a recent signage change that stole the one bitof character the outside of the building had, however parking is usually very convenient, either right out front our just around back f the building. You can smell the aroma of lamb and spices as you walk up to the building, a sensation that seems terribly out of place in such a bland location. Once you walk inside, you are taken back to british colonial India, with a host of tuxedoed gentlemen that greet with a smile and pull out your chair for you. The pristine white tablecloths, sparkling polished silverware, and spotless glasses are in sharp contrast to the neigboring Funland and Cuck E Cheese. The menu is delightfully original, and the waiters seem to accept any bastardized mispronunciation of their entrees. The food arrives quickly, is served very hot, and tastes fresh and delicious.
We love to eat there again and again, as it truly is an excellent secret.
