After saying our goodbyes we got in our car a drove for about an hour and decided to stop in Gulfport for the night. Another Best Western.
This is a big facility. Three levels, elevators, even a night club attached to the front. And when we pulled in at nearly 10p.m. the place was jumping and rocking and the people were coming and going and the noise level was up there.

We had completed many underways on the ship summer of 2005 getting ready for the next cruise we had to do for our next mission, Unfortunately Hurricane Katrina happened when we were supposed to be home with our families and we headed down south, picking up many many 'passengers' along the way to aide in our Humanitarian Mission.

Since I never been to Mississippi, was due in Slidell at 12:30 which is only a few miles from the border, and had a rental car, I decided to drive to Gulfport and see how the city was looking. Well, it looked like a ghost town: only a few signs of life, no restaurants open (save McDonalds, iHop (which i don't count as restaurants)), and barely the amount of cars you could count on one hand.
