Guglielmo Marconi Airport Jul 07, 2010
Bologna's Guglielmo Marconi Airport, named after the Nobel Prize winner from the city, is the definition of a Italian regional airport: there is nothing here. So, as usual, it's not a good idea to be particularly early. There's little more beyond control than a few seats and some overpriced cornershop-esque places for food and drink. I don't even remember a duty free. Either way it's old and depressing. Come late.

You can get a bus into the city centre for about €7. Other than that it's car hire or taxi. There's no train. It's roughly 6 miles from the town centre and predominatly deals with budget air travel.
