Guesthouse Rongphu Monastery Mount Everest Reviews
great view Sep 28, 2005
Just a few kilometers from Mount Everest base camp is Rongphu Monastery (elevation 5.1000m). And that's really the main attraction to the place: the location. The Guesthouse is pretty basic. Rooms are small and very cold (especially the ones with cracked windows). The room we were in had four beds but we didn’t have to share it with other people. Looking out of the window on a clear day you can see Mount Everest! Because of the height we didn’t sleep very well. I think most people staying here have a bad night.
The restaurant was a cozy room with a fire in the middle and lots of fellow travelers to compare stories with. They served simple but good meals.
But the toilet building was so gross that we stayed as far away of it as possible.
To visit the Mount Everest Base camp you can walk the 8 kilometers or catch a ride with one of the cars pulled by horses.
