You Toobin Mar 28, 2011
Toobin (as we say in Texas) down a river is a great and refreshing way to spend the hot summer days in Texas. Just west of New Braunfels, the Guadalupe river at the Horseshoe hosts several companies that rent out inner tubes. The Horseshoe lets you get in one side, float down the river for an hour or so, then get out walk up the road then get back in and start again. During the summer it can get packed, hundreds of people bring their dogs, coolers (no glass), etc and it's one big party. Depending on the water flow, it may be better to get an inner tube with a bottom to avoid scraping against the rocks.

Floating the Guadalupe River Dec 18, 2008
If you're looking for relaxing summer fun, this is it! The Gaudalupe River is located in between San Antonio and Austin in Texas. You and a group of buddies rent some intertubes (I'd also recommend renting a tube with a cooler in it for your drinks), and float down the river for a few hours. There are so many people to meet along the way while you're floating. Make sure you have a waterproof camera for some fun photos! Also, there are a few places that have small rapids. The time I went, the water was a little low, so you could really feel the rocks beneath you. This is why I would highly recommend renting the intertubes that have a bottom to them. That way, when you go over any rocks, it won't hurt.
The cooler tube you want to get!
