Our bed & breakfast guest house is located in a relaxed and quiet area above the village of Bayerisch Eisenstein (724m), on the lower slopes of Grosser Arber (1456m), in the Bavarian Forest. The Forest is an area of outstanding natural beauty, situated in the South East of Germany, on the border with the Czech Republic, close to Austria and the River Danube. Halfway between Munich and Prague, which along with Salzburg, Regensburg, Nuremberg and Passau, are less the 3 hours drive away.The village of Bayerisc...(see more)h Eisenstein has restaurants, basic shops, local railway museum, the only railway station in Europe shared by 2 countries, (the border runs through the centre of the station building), glassworks, tennis courts, mini golf, and park complete with pond and children's play ground. Gästehaus am Berg has 13 spacious and comfortable en-suite bedrooms, most with balconies with views of the village and beyond. It is within easy walking distance of the village centre, with all its amenities, the German/Czech border and only 5 minutes drive to the ski lifts & ski schools. Walking, cycling and cross-country ski trails start within 100 metres of the guesthouse.The Bavarian National Park is a few minutes walk from the guesthouse and the Arber mountain cable car is a few minutes drive away.
