Walking routes for all levels Nov 15, 2010
Much has changed since I was last at Grizedale Forest but a number of years have as well. Forestry inevitably causes changes to the countryside and grizedale is one of the forests tha has tried to give something back. Of course you will find all the facilities you would expect at the Visito Centre but in addition there are eight waymarked walks and there are about eighty sculptures scattered through the forest.

The Millwood Trail makes some provision for prams (I gather they are called something else in America -baby-walkers??) and wheelchairs. On the other hand, three of the eight routes are classified as strenuous and one, the Silurian Way, is estimated at 6 hours.

Being situated between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, the tops, bare of trees in places, give super views.
