Grijinha Beach Bar

I just spent a month on the island of Sal in Cape Verde and found the entire experience to be delightful. Locals are friendly and easy going, seafood is fresh and cheap, the sand is pure and white, and the blue skies remained cloudless the entire time.

However, one day, in the last week of my stay I stummbled across Grijinha Beach Bar on the east coast of the island........
WHAT A SPOT!!!!!

Surrounded by mesmerizing choppy seaviews on one side and a natural lagoon on the other I happily spent my last days lazing in the lagoon watching the local fisherman seaching for bait, or drinking ice cold beers with the Irish/Australian couple who run it. Go the Aussies!!

When I was there they were only open on the weekends, and it can be a little breezy at night, but the atmosphere was magic. Good music, great fun, delicious cheap food from the BBQ,and plenty of sand to walk around barefoot in.

WELL worth a visit.
