Greyhound Hotel Cromford Jan 15, 2017
Among the many things Richard Arkwright built in Cromford to support his mills was a hotel. Here, he housed potential investors and other businessmen but also boosted local economy. The name comes from a friend of Arkwright's who was fond of Greyhounds. Philip Gell's family crest is still seen on the building. It is a representative Georgian manor from 1779, its interior its stylish but meets modern needs.

I finished my day in Cromford with a pint in the Greyhound Pub and think that this is a great way to see one of Arkwright's buildings and relax at the same time. Of course, the pub also offers meals.
