Gresham, Oregon is 11 miles east of Portland and has a population of 97,745 as of 2000. Located in Washington County, Beaverton is the 4th largest city in the state of Oregon. Gresham was named after the American Civil War general Walter Quinton Gresham.

Gresham started out as a campground for people whose main destination was Portland, but became a city in 1905 nineteen years after establishing a post office and receiving a zip code which would legally make Gresham a city.

Our hotel for the might is the Best Western Pony Soldier. They got our reservation messed up and tried to put us in a smoking room. I quit about four years ago and although it doesn't bother me too much, it really bothers my wife, so we ended up having to change to what they claimed was all that was left at the price we wanted.
