Greenwich (pronunciation (help·info); IPA /'ɡɹɛn.ɪtʃ/ "GREN-itch", /'ɡɹɪn.ɪdʒ/ "GRIN-idge" or /'ɡɹɛn.ɪdʒ/ "GREN-idge")[1][2] is a district in south-east London, England, on the south bank of the River Thames in the London Borough of Greenwich. It is best known for its maritime history and as giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longtitude) and Greenwich Mean Time.
The town became the site of a Royal palace, the Palace of Placentia from the 15th century, and was the birthplace of many in the House of Tudor, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. The palace fell into disrepair during the English Civil War and was rebuilt as the Royal Naval Hospital for Sailors by Sir Christopher Wren and his assistant Nicholas Hawksmoor. These buildings became the Royal Naval College in 1873, and they remained an establishment for military education until 1998 when they passed into the hands of the Greenwich Foundation. The historic rooms within these buildings remain open to the public, other buildings are used by University of Greenwich and the Trinity College of Music. As a serious student in London, time to explore the city is often limited. Yet after exams, the sun shines, and time abounds: life is stress-free and beautiful. These are some of the photographs taken during my time in London.

Phil had the idea of taking a boat down the Thames and getting off at Greenwich, to see the sites there. I had never even thought of doing such a thing, it was a great idea. So, we walked from the hostel just a couple minutes to a boat dock, and caught a ferry to Greenwich. On the way we got to see lots of neat sites, like an obelisk from Egypt (after having been in Egypt, it's cool to know where these came from and how much it means that they were given away), Shakepeare's ...

I wander thro' each charter'd street,
Near where the charter'd Thames does flow
And mark in every face I meet
Marks of weakness, marks of woe.

You can spend several days here if you want to see everything in this part of southwest london. I arrived pretty early at 12AM and only had 5hours untill everything closed. Thinking about comming back some other time , but im not sure since my stay here in london is comming to an end. But since the admission is free is nothing wrong with just taking the DLR out the greenwich again.
Going here is a Must see if you are in london. If you only have 2days in London walking from Westminister to To...
